August
This month your lawn should be a beautiful green! August is typically a very warm month that Bermuda loves, as long as it gets some hydration. It also typically brings Army worms. Along the middle southeast army worms emerge from their eggs, and the larvae become worms that love green turf. Get prepared!
To Do List
- With heat bearing down, make sure you irrigate
- This is a great month to apply liquid fertilizers
- Apply a monthly insecticide preventative to keep army worms at bay
- Mow as often as possible (2-3 times per week)
- You may want to raise your height of cut a notch
- If you use Plant Growth Regulators, keep track of your apps
- Spot spray or pull up any weeds that may have popped up
- Apply a preventative Fungicide, remember to switch up your modes of action ✨
- Feed the soil – apply a monthly dose of soil amendments
